Second Chances Thrift Store

Since 2007, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue has been helping to save and rehome animals in Buncombe County and beyond. Located just a few doors down from the rescue’s adoption center is Second Chances Thrift Store, which benefits the lifesaving work of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

You’re likely to see the current store manager Sarah when you shop, and you might even be lucky enough to meet an adoptable animal who is hanging out at the store that day. “We have the best donors and customers who truly care about our mission. We do our best to give the community great deals while also helping the animals who need us most. Overall, we hope that anyone who enters the store feels good about supporting Brother Wolf and leaves with a smile!" says Sarah.

Overview:

What’s the vibe?

You’ll find an array of awesome secondhand items from clothing to housewares, books and pet gear. Everything is arranged into sections based on item type, and there are some unique (and seasonal/color-coordinated) items on display at the front of the store.

We love that they have a section of craft supplies! We’ve found knitting needles, fun pattern scissors, and more.

Unique qualities

Shopping here is an extra treat because not only do you get cool one-of-a-kind items, your money is going to help Asheville’s animals in need. You can shop here with a well-behaved dog as well.

On Wednesdays, they offer half off one item $30 or under for our volunteers, fosters, seniors, teachers, and first responders.

They have recently started hosting community events, starting with a painting day!

Our finds from Second Chances

I've gotten a nice dog bed (for my fosters!), a decorative mirror, some great books and other home goods. Second Chances also contributed clothing to the AVL Clothing Swap!
